outline

18-8 precision AISI 304/302 stainless steel ball is used when corrosion resistance and toughness that hardenable stainless steel does not have are required. Mainly used in couplings, valves and pumps.

features

Low permeability: annealing, 1.003; Cold working, 1.10; Severe cold working, 10.0. High tensile strength at high temperature. 18-8 stainless steel works rapidly. AISI 304/302 stainless steel balls of this material are passivated.

Corrosion resistance

18-8 stainless steel ball can resist the corrosion of oxidation solution, food, disinfection solution and most organic chemicals. They are easy to be attacked by halogen acid and have certain resistance to sulfuric acid.

Typical hardness

Annealing – Rockwell B 75-95. Not annealed – Rockwell C 25-39.

Ball size

Available in sizes from 1.5 mm to 50.8 mm, grade 50 to 1000.
