Thrust bearing

Hartford Technologies thrust bearings are used to apply axial loads from either direction.

Main thrust bearing components include retainer or cage and rolling element (ball or roller). In many thrust bearings, two hardened steel washers act as raceways and are also part of the bearings. Sometimes, these parts are pre-assembled, while in other applications, these parts will only be combined when the thrust bearing is integrated into a larger assembly. The standard ball or roller material is bearing grade chromium steel.

Hartford Technologies thrust bearings use rollers with higher bearing capacity than thrust bearings with balls. For rollers, there is theoretically contact line and point contact with the ball.

Thrust bearing applications include:

Boring machine workbench

Automobile air conditioning compressor

Agricultural equipment

Clutch release mechanism

Automobile, aircraft, ship
